This is my home page.  My home for the past 4 years and the foreseeable future is Richmond Virginia, after living in NYC for most of my life.  I am not one of those NY people who doesn't think anything in Richmond stacks up.  Hell, I am not even one of those Richmonders that think anywhere but Richmond is where it is at.  Call me crazy, but I like it, thank you very much.

I play guitar and bass, sing, and can write arrangements/compositions.  I have been recording music for the last few years and have gotten some decent results (see the music page).  I would like to hook up with some like minded, or hell, different minded musicians / recordists.  I have been playing and writing for most of my life, in bands, solo, writing for string groups, dance groups, film, my super's salsa band, playing rock, jazz, ambient etc. 

I am grounded in singer-songwriter and indie rock, with textural/soundscape tendencies, bits of music that sounds like it should be in a movie, my favorite composers/arrangers (Gil Evans, Strayhorn, Bartok, Stravinsky, John Lurie, John Zorn), a soft spot for some old twangy jazz/"Americana" (Les Paul and Chet Atkins remind me of my grandfather's music -- Bill Frisell, Marc Ribot might be modern versions), dash of good soul music and crooners/divas from the past (Billie, Ella, Judy, Nina), and the Duke (Ellington not John Wayne).
